Rate My Birth Care exists to help families find trusted, quality birth support. The reviews on this platform carry real weight — families make important decisions based on what they read here. These guidelines exist to keep reviews honest, fair, and genuinely useful.

Be honest and specific

Share what actually happened during your experience. Specific details — what the provider said, how they made you feel, what they did during labor — are far more helpful to families than vague praise or criticism. If something was great, say why. If something fell short, explain what you would have preferred.

Be constructive

Focus on the care you received, not on attacking the person. It's fine to say a provider wasn't the right fit for you — that's genuinely useful information. But personal insults, threats, or attacks that have nothing to do with the birth care experience are not permitted.

No profanity or hate speech

Reviews must be free of profanity, slurs, and discriminatory language. This includes content targeting protected characteristics like race, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

Only review experiences you personally had

You must have directly worked with this provider in a professional capacity to leave a review. Do not post on behalf of someone else, or write a review based on second-hand accounts.

No conflicts of interest

Do not post reviews motivated by personal vendettas, business competition, or financial incentives. This includes providers reviewing competitors, or anyone posting fake positive reviews for a provider they are affiliated with.

Stay on topic

Reviews should relate to the birth care services you received. Comments about unrelated personal matters, parking, or anything outside the scope of the professional relationship are not appropriate.

Consequences of violations

Reviews that violate these guidelines may result in:

  • •Temporary suspension of review privileges
  • •Permanent account suspension for repeated or severe violations
